Stop the insanity! of a bad hair day.

Face it gentleman even we have bad hair days.  Instead of slapping on the good ole baseballcap here are a few ideals to help keep them from happening.

Wash Your Hair Regularly

This goes without saying everyone should keep their hairnice a clean.  Any day your hair looksoily or greasy should be considered a bad hair day.  You know those days when you walk into the office and someone ask you if you woke up on the wrong side of the bed.  Yeah you’re having a bad hair day.  Clean hair is the first step in a neat andclean appearance.  While most of us think this is common sense there are some out there that don’t think it matters.

If for some reason you can’t shower in the morning or prefer to shower at night NEVER go to bed with your hair still damp!  Your wet hair will form to the shape of your pillow and you will not be able to get ride of the bed head look.

Try new shampoo and conditioners

New shampoos and conditioners can really help to keep yourhair from looking grungy.  Your hairgradually get accustom to your hair products and begin to lose its appeal.  Changing your hair products ever so oftenwill help to keep it looking healthy.

Styling Tricks

When it come to your hair never use low end hair products such as mousses and gels they tend to make your hair flaky and greasy and holds half as long as quality hair products which last longer and 90% of the time you will only need a drop to keep it looking great.

Don’t Overload Your Hair

If you decide to lie down after work and rest before going to a ward activity don’t overload your hair with product before going out.  I know there those that you want to impress but don’t do it!  While hair gel can make your hair look nicer it will also make it look greasier and no one want

that.

If you are having more bad hair days then good ones it’s time for a change, keeping your haircut help with keeping it healthier longer.  Sometimes you will have to do something drastic like changing up your hairstyle. Although us men like to find a look that works and stick with it sometimes changes is in order to get out of the bad hair slump.

New Zealand LDS School Closes

New Zealand’s only LDS School is shutting its doors after 51 years.

Hamilton’s Church College hasn’t accepted junior students since 2006 when the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints announced the closure, saying the church resources could be used elsewhere.

The future of the school, which is a feature of the suburb of Temple View and was well known for its sporting achievements, was unclear, the Waikato Times reported.

Principal Lloyd Keung, who had been at the school since 1971, said staff and students had been mentally and emotionally preparing for the closure.

Weathering the Storm

The rock band Switchfoot is no stranger to crossover successafter turning out hits (such as “Meant to Live” and “Dare You to Move”), aftera 3 and a half years filled with creative challenges and painstaking wait forfans.  The boys of Switchfoot have beenstretched further then ever before.

The band’s mainstream appeal comes mostly from their recordlabel Columbia Records which release BeautifulLetdown in 2003 and followed by 2005’s Nothing Is Sound and thefollowing year’s Oh! Gravity.  Since BeautifulLetdown hashit stores the band has face many struggles that come with success.  As the success grew the band felt like thewalls where closing in on them both creatively and spiritually.

“You start out as a band hoping to finish college, and afteryou drop out, you realize, 'man, these songs mean a lot to me and a lot ofothers out there,' and you think maybe you should do it for a living,” leadsinger Jon Foreman tells GospelMusicChannel.com has he retells the story of thegroup’s rise to success and the tribulations that follow. “Then you get signedto Columbia, sell a couple million records, and that’s when you figure out thetwists and turns that kind of happen behind the scenes. The past two recordswere really difficult because so much of our music is communal, but prettysoon, when it feels like the community isn’t tied into the reasons you’replaying the songs [and it becomes about the record label], that somehow robsthe music of its power. So we broke free from everything – our label and management– and started again on our own, ultimately coming back to the reasons we lovemusic in the first place.”

Since leaving Columbia Records the band started their ownrecord label lowercase people records, complete with recording studio wherethey wrote 80 songs choosing a dozen of them for their new album HelloHurricane.  Without the pressure of a record company theband was able to follow the format which got them where they are today, basicsongwriting which took them in a surprising direction.

It was an incredible opportunity for us and it was really adream to have complete autonomy,” Foreman continues. “We wanted to pushboundaries of who we were and discover different sides of our sound. Out ofthose 80 songs, a lot were very technology-driven, some were really out thereand others had a dance vibe. But then we came back to idea that we – theheartbeat of this band – feels a little more transcendent than going withcurrent trends, you know? So that was our model for making this record. If itdoesn’t move you as far as your heart is concerned, then maybe it’s time toplay a different song.”

The 12 songs that where selected for their new albumcontinues with the bands anthemic appeal, HelloHurricane has that early day feel of BeautifulLetdown with their arena rock prowess that left fans craving for more.

“There are certainly some parallels to The BeautifulLetdown, starting with the fact that we recorded it as an independent bandand then Columbia came to us and wanted to release it,” explains guitarist/part-timepiano player Jerome Fontamillas. “With Hello Hurricane, Atlantic camein [on the mainstream side] after we recorded it, so there was this excitementknowing we were going to release it to a bigger audience, which is the samekind of feeling we had right before Letdown.” Despite competing to two markets(mainstream, Christian) Hello Hurricanewas written in the purest of personal and spiritual of places that any fan canrelate to.
